Wow it has been busy around here! My birthday weekend came and went. It was such fun! My parents came up to visit. Mom and I went to a bunch of yardsales on Saturday. I scored some awesome stuff for Annabelle's room. My mom is slowly introducing me to the art form that is yardsaling =) Is that a word? Check out this mirror a lady was selling for $25.
I offered $5. We settled on $7.50, what a steal! After I got it home, I realized the glass was easy to remove. Now it is all sanded and ready to paint. It will most likely end up silver. I want Annabelle's room to have silver accents, but I could paint it white - we will see. Some may ask, what is wrong with the gold? Well, nothing, but this gold had really big specks of black all over it and it was UGLY. Trust me.

We do not have crib bedding. Our crib is not a normal size. Plus, EC was out of her crib by the time she turned one, so I don't see paying $$ for crib bedding that doesn't get much use. Eventually I will have to come up with matching bedding for her toddler bed. The good news is my sewing machine is up and running! I see a quilt in my future!
Back to my birthday =) So Saturday continued to rock. Grammy and Poppa kept the girls while Bo and I took in a matinée. Pirates of the Caribbean III was actually pretty good. There have been a ton of terrible movies out lately, so I was glad this one was enjoyable! We love going to the movies, but for the price it just is not worth it to see a bad movie.
Sunday was the best day of the weekend. My actual birthday =) Bo started off the morning by letting me open my present, before church, hence we were late. He and fam gave me an iPad for my birthday!!! It is awesome!!! I didn't really understand what the big deal was until I was holding one of my very own. He told me my gift was going to be "pink and white and life changing". Well, it is =) I use it to play music where ever we are in the house, browsing the internet, reading books, etc. It was great for entertaining EC at the wedding this past weekend. iBooks may be my favorite app. I am over half way finished with my first grown up book since 2009. The only thing it does not have (or is powerful enough to run) that I eventually want is photoshop, but that will have to wait until we have a better family computer... some where down on that wish list.
Sunday morning worship was the best service we have been to in a while. It was about prayer. The past sermon series has been about spiritual warfare and every sermon has been full of new revelations for me. It is a topic that I had not heard sermons on before. We were scheduled to meet a realtor in Woodstock that morning, but I told Bo we were not going to miss church. Brain spoke about how prayer is our way to activate the authority given to us in Christ. Our way to establish our position in this ongoing battle, be it through confession of sin, prayers of thanksgiving, prayers of intersession, or more. He reiterated the fact if you have unconfessed sin then your ultimate weapon, prayer, is weakened. At some point in college, at Wesley we discussed that prayer should be a continuous part of our day. An ongoing conversation with God. Pray at all times. Brian talked about how this can only happen when you invite God into all aspects of your life. "How would it change every little thing you do?" WWJD anyone? How about those facebook posts? Seriously, when I get on facebook and read my friend's posts, I can tell when someone does not have Jesus as the main focus in their life. The sermon also made me think about who I go to first for advice. Who do you pick up the phone to call? Perhaps I should be talking to the big guy upstairs a little more first. Brian also talked about how the holy spirit intercedes for us. When I just don't know what to say, the holy spirit will take my petition up for me. Best of all, he reminded us that Jesus is our advocate, sitting at the right hand of God. It was good stuff! You should head over to

So after church we met a very nice realtor, Peggy Davis. She showed us three houses. We would really like to buy a ranch style home in Woodstock. Unfortunately ranch style homes are rare. We did find one house that I really liked, but there were a few huge draw backs. It was the first house in Town Lake Hills West (my brother's neighborhood, just the west side). So this meant it was on a main road. The previous owners were big smokers, inside. I would have gladly gutted the whole house, but I would have wanted them to come off the price a lot! The other big thing was the outside is stucoo and my hubby hates stucco. It was a decent color, but still stucco. I didn't care about the stucco, but I cannot dash my husbands dreams...
What I loved about the house was the layout. All the bedrooms were on one side of the house. The master was large enough to accommodate our furniture. The master bath and closet were HUGE. The girls rooms would have been small, but they had large double windows that made them very bright. From the front door of the house you could see all the way through the back door to the back yard. I LOVED this! It had a nice big room in the middle of the house, a dinning room, decent kitchen, family room, and breakfast nook. It did not have a laundry room, just a laundry closet. Overall great house, but as Bo said, "The things we don't like, we cannot change." So here is to hoping we will find a great house one day!
